Today is Anzac Day (Observed) down here in Australia.
Anzac day is observed every April 25th, and is approximately the equivalent of Veterans Day in the US (celebrated November 11th). Australians also have a holiday on the 11th of November, called Remembrance Day which is the equivalent of Memorial Day in the United States which falls on May 30th (although it is observed on the last Monday of May). There was more I was going to say, but it somehow seems insignificant after reading a lot about the history of the holidays.
