Sleep happens when? Another restless night of ten minute cat naps punctured by lucid dreaming and random spanish. Going home for Thanksgiving later today. Maybe that will help me get some rest. Either way, Im glad this quarter is coming to a close. Im a bit stressed out right now, and need the break. 0 comments Tuesday, November 26, 2002

Todays posts were supposed to be about happy things. The first snowfall last night, that accumulated slightly on everything that wasn't concrete, and the Three Amigos, including Pablo Fransisco, whom we saw last night in Juliet at the Rialto theatre. Instead, it's time for me to try and stand strong, and with the support of all those who care about me, to get through these times. 0 comments An hour later. My mom calls. Now the tears flow freely. He's at peace now she says. I can't respond. 0 comments I know that Im not going to want to post this if I read it over, but I think I'll want to have it later. I just got a phone call. It was my brother. I picked it up, not expecting to hear anything out of the ordinary. Then he told me- "Papa is in the hospital. He had an aneurysm. They don't know whether he is going to make it" It doesn't sink in right away. As my first real experience with someone close to me in this situation, I didn't know what to say or do. Im halfway across the country. We talked for a minute- he was going to the hospital- and I could hear the tears starting to come for him. He'd heard 45 minutes before, and called once before when I was in the shower. I could feel him transitioning out of the shock phase which I was definitely still in, and tears seemed to be coming from him as we hung up. I did the only rational thing I could then. I called Meg's place, but she wasn't there. And Amy, the next person I thought of was running out the door, and I didn't tell her. So noone here knows yet but me. After calling, I passed the next 10 minutes by prinitng out papers I needed to read for Cell Bio tomorrow. Thats when it really hit me. Starting with a few sniffles, I ended up sobbing and then crying. As a friend once said, I was surprised at how few tears there were at first, but then they kept coming. I know more will come if this doesn't turn out for the best, but for now at least I remain hopeful. Nana and Papa, all my love! 0 comments Friday, November 15, 2002

The final three hour report is now done. Good ridance. Now only 2 labs remian for BME 308. After that we only have the practical exam and the final exam, and im sure there is some other test we have to take for it. Oh well! Other than that, all i have is a midterm tomorrow in Mat Sci and the finals in Mat Sci, Cell Bio, and Religion. The quarter is going by pretty fast now it seems. And yes, I think I say that at some point every quarter. Wow, this is going to be an interesting post for all those who read it. 0 comments Tuesday, November 12, 2002
"Subject: Gotass Award - McCormick Senior Undergraduate Research Award By nature of you receiving this message, you may be eligible for consideration for the Gotass Award..." ~Partial text of an official email received from Northwestern about an award I could possibly receive. It is really supposed to the the Gotaas award, but it looks like someone made a typo. 0 comments Monday, November 11, 2002

Whoever thought that I'd be able to post on 'Accidents Cause History?' How un-exciting... So hey, I'm Danny - this website's brother... err... website owner's brother - visiting him from NJ... Welcome to Evanston... population: Northwestern students and weird people that like to have their own TV shows to talk about nothing. (See "Daily Northwestern - NYou" - 11/7/02) "Didn't know you had a fish, and just saw something moving." - a quote from someone in Andrew's apartment. I'm being un-interesting, and will undoubtedbly lose Andrew readers. Oh well. Visit Locodanny.com for more of me (although from reading this, I don't know why you'd want to). 0 comments Wednesday, November 06, 2002
So much to do today, so I figured I'd procrastinate a little by telling the world about it. First, I have an outline of my paper for material science due at 10 this morning. As of right now Im pretty much done with that, which is good considereing its only 2 hours from now that its due. Then I have a cell bio midterm, which Im not prepared for yet, but should hopefully be between the next 2 free hours and 2 hours I have free during the day. Then my bro is coming in at 7:15 from Newark where he will be picked up by Janice who is great for getting him. In addition, I will know sometime today about whether Medtronic wants to speak with me again, after I interviewed with them on the first of November. If they do I get to fly out to Minneapolis on either the 11th or the 18th, which would be fun, although who knows what I would miss here workwise. The tomorrow I have to do a 3-hour lab report for BME lab, so I need to prepare everything I want to say before hand, and hope I can get it together like I did the last one two weeks ago (which I still haven't gotten back). Then hopefully a fun stress-free weekend with my brother and people here and Meg's sister who is also coming out this weekend (for those of you who don't know my brother and Meg's sister go to high school together at Columbia in Maplewood). Anyway, thats my day/weekend in a nutshell (a very large nutshell- although that won't make sense to most people). 0 comments Saturday, November 02, 2002
